j2message works with the Just2easy Parent Portal to allow teachers to communicate with parents and carers. Ensure your Parent Portal is fully set up and parents/carers are linked before proceeding. You can access more information on this here





Messaging all parents/carers in a class or group

  1. Open j2message from your Launchpad.

  2. Select the class or teaching group from the list on the left-hand side.

  3. By default, the class discussion board for pupils and teachers will open.

  4. Click “Message all parents/carers” below the class name to open the parent/carer discussion board. (You can see the name of the discussion board you have open on the top left of the screen)

  5. Type your message, attach files, or use speech-to-text. You can also include audio recordings to support parents who may need additional literacy assistance.

  6. Click Send.


Note: If parents/carers reply, their message will automatically move to a 1:1 conversation between you and that parent. Replies will not appear on the class parent/carer board.



Messaging a parent/carer individually

  1. Individual messaging can be found by clicking on the individual messages (three people) button. 

  2. Select the  relevant pupil’s message board out of the list. 

  3. Alternatively, you can use the search bar to search for an individuals name. 

  4. Linked parents will be listed below. Click the parent/carers name below the pupil’s name to open the 1:1 discussion board. 

    • Please note: messages will only be sent to that individual parent. You will need to copy and paste the message if you wish to send the message to multiple linked parents. 

  5. Compose your message and click Send.
