The Just2easy Parent Portal allows parents/carers to have an over-the-shoulder view of their child's J2e account. More information on what the portal shows can be found in this article (click here)
Linking pupils to parents
To begin with you will need the parent/carer's email address. As a school you may also like to consider a parental acceptable usage policy (AUP), outlining expectations for the use of the Portal. We have a template available here.
To link a parent/carer, begin with opening J2dashboard on your J2launchpad:
Once in J2dashboard, select the "parents" tab to showcase the parent portal set up. To invite parents you can either "invite by email" OR you can generate QR codes to send home.
QR codes:
Parents can be linked to their child/ren by scanning a QR code using a mobile device. To generate QR codes to send home, select the relevant class, then click the "create QR codes" button:
This will generate the classes QR codes. These can be cut up and sent home. Please note - each child's QR code is personal to them, so should only be shared with relevant parents/carers.
The parents will need to scan the QR code, and follow a few simple steps to register their account (parents only need to register once - adding additional children can be done by using the login option instead)
Once registered the parent/carer will be sent a verification email to the email address they used to register with. They will need to click on the link within the email before they can access their PP account
Linking via email invite:
To invite parent's/carers via email invite, from the parent tab within j2dashboard use the drop down menu to select your class:
To invite the relevant parent/carer, click on the "invite parent" button and add the parent/carer's email address, then click "send invitation email":
An email will be sent to the parent/carer. Parents/carers will need to open the invitation email and create a Just2easy Parent Portal account.
Once registered the parent/carer will be sent a verification email to the email address they used to register with. They will need to click on the link within the email before they can access their PP account. This is a very important step, without verifying the account, they will not be able to access their account
Linking multiple children to a PP account
Parents/carers will need to be sent a QR code/email invite per child attending the school. I.e if they have three children within school, they will be sent 3 email invites/QR codes - 1 per child. They will only need to register once, but all email links will need to be clicked/QR codes scanned to link the accounts to the registered PP account.
Alternatively: One logged into their account, parents/carers will see the option to "add child". Clicking on this button will prompt them to enter a code, and define the relationship. The code can be found within the invite email/on the QR code and can be manually entered.
Once they have clicked on the links/scanned each QR code, they will be able to toggle between each child's account once they are logged in:
Linked account status
Once parents/carers have registered, the linked accounts will show as below:
What can parents see through the Parent Portal?
Once connected, parents/carers will have an overview of their child's outstanding homework, unread messages and this weeks J2stars awarded. They will have links to be able to check assigned homework, their child's MyFiles area and the messaging service (called j2message):

Removing parent/carer access
Parental access can be removed at any time. Simply click on the red "x" next to the parent/carer name. This will remove their access from that particular pupil account.
Should the parent/carer account need to be re-linked, another invitation email can be sent to the same email address. Simply follow the steps above to reinstate access.
Please note: If you wish to completely remove a parent/carers access, be sure to remove access from all linked accounts (including siblings within school). This will need to be done on a child by child basis. E.g. if a parent has 3 children in different classes within school, access will need to be removed from each individual child. Removing the parent/carers access from one child will not restrict access to all linked accounts.
