j2create lets you create and share custom word lists to support developing literacy skills. Once saved, your word list can be accessed in both JIT Write and JIT Mix.

 


  1. Open j2create from your launchpad, or a j2create file from your MyFiles

  2. Go to Word Lists

    • From the top menu, choose ‘Word Lists’.

  3. Create a New Word List

    • Click the "+" or " New" button.

    • Give your word list a name (e.g., “Autumn Vocabulary” or “My Story Words”).

  4. Add Words or phrases

    • Type each word or phrase you want to include.

    • Press Enter after each word or phrase to add it to the list.

    • Continue until all the words you need are entered.

  5. Save Your Word List

    • Click the ‘Save’ button.

    • Your list will now be available to use at the bottom of the file, and will appear in your saved word lists.

  6. Share (Optional)

    • To make the list available to your pupils:

      •  hover over the word list

      • Click the blue i

      • select ‘Share’

      • Choose the relevant class, group, or individual users by using the drop down menu


The word list will only be accessible to those you have shared it with. 

Setting up a teaching group can make it easier to share wordlists only with those groups of pupils that need the support. You can find more information here



Access the Word List in JIT Write or Mix

  1. Open JIT Write or JIT Mix.

  2. Click the word list title to open the wordlists

  3. Use the black arrow to open other wordlists

  4. Select the:

    •  My wordlists button (if accessing a wordlist you have created) 

    • or the Shared wordlists button if the wordlist has been shared with you (i.e. pupils would click the shared wordlists button)

  5. Select your saved list—your words are now ready to use!
