At the start of a new academic year, it’s important to tidy up your j2journal workspace. Archiving or deleting old journals helps keep things organised, ensures teachers, pupils and parents see only relevant classes, and makes it easier to manage new learning content.

Archiving is useful if you want to keep a record of last year’s learning without it appearing on your current list, while deleting removes the journal entirely if it’s no longer needed.

Content in archived classes will still be visible by pupils and parents, but will be in a view only format, with commenting functionality removed.

Deleted classes will be removed from all accounts and no longer visible by anyone (unless restored)

How to Archive a Journal

  1. Open j2journal from your launchpad.

  2. Locate the journal you wish to archive and click the edit button (top right hand corner of the class journal tile)

  3. Select Archive.

  4. You will be met with a prompt box to authorise the archive. Click "ok" to archive.

  5. The journal will be removed to your journals list, and moved into the archives.

  6. Your class journal will be available to use again through the active class journals list. Refresh the page to load this view.

How to Delete a Journal
