Any content added by pupils or parents will first appear in the moderation area of the relevant j2journal class. This ensures that nothing is published without teacher approval, maintaining a safe and appropriate learning environment:

To moderate submitted work/comments within j2journal

  1. Open j2journal and load the relevant class journal

A purple number will appear in the corner of a class journal when work/comments are awaiting moderation. You will also receive a notification in your notification centre:

  2. Access the moderation area

  3. Preview submissions

    • Work and comments will be listed.

    • You can edit and approve work/comments individually on each post, or as a whole using the "approve all" button

      • Approve – Click Approve to make the content visible in the journal for all intended viewers.

      • Reject/Delete – If the content isn’t suitable, click Delete to remove it. (Please note this will not delete the file/work, only the journal entry submission)

      • Edit (optional) – If small corrections are needed (e.g., a title change, a folder adding, a progression statement tagging), you can edit before approving.

  4. Once content is approved it will be visible to tagged pupils and linked parents

Awaiting approval label: Until you approve it, the posting pupil or parent will see their content marked as “Awaiting teacher approval” in their own view. No other pupils or parents will see it until you publish.
