j2journal provides a simple way to gather, organise, and celebrate pupils’ learning. Work created in JIT and j2create can be sent straight to a class journal, without having to open j2journal separately. This is especially helpful for younger learners who want to quickly showcase their achievements in their class journal.
Adding content from JIT:
Open your completed work in JIT.
Click the “Save” button.
Choose “Publish to j2journal”.
Select the correct class journal and folder (if applicable).
We recommend that each pupil has a single journal for their class, which removes the need for them to choose a journal when posting their work.
Your work will now appear in the chosen journal.
Adding content from j2create:
Finish your project in j2create.
Click the “Save” button.
Select “Publish to j2journal” from the save options.
Pick the appropriate journal and folder (if the pupil belongs to more than one class journal they will be given an option to select a journal. If they only have one journal, click "create")
Click "ok"– your content is now in j2journal. You can view the journal post by clicking "Go to journal".
When a pupil submits content to j2journal, it first goes into the moderation area. This means it will not be visible to the rest of the class or parents until a teacher reviews and approves it. The pupil who posted the work can still see their submission, but it will be clearly marked as “awaiting teacher approval” until the teacher decides whether to publish it:![]()
Notes:
Pupils can only add work to journals of classes they belong to.
Teachers will be able to see all contributions; pupils will only see their own or items they are tagged in.
Saved content remains accessible in MyFiles and the class journal.
Content can be added to the class journal through the j2journal tool. More information on this can be found here:
