1. Open j2journal from your Launchpad.

2. Click “New Journal” to begin.

3. Select a class from the dropdown list.

   • Registration classes appear in green.

   • Teaching classes appear in purple.

4. Name the class. This should be a name pupils and parent will recognise (i.e Class 1, Class 1 2025/6, C1, etc)

5. Enable parental contributions or comments (if available).

   • These options depend on your school settings.

   • To adjust settings school-wide, see:
     Managing j2journal options in the dashboard.

6. Click “Create” to finish your journal setup.

7. Add learning content to your journal.

   • For detailed steps, see:
     How to add content to j2journal.

The journal will now be added into the "My Journals" section of your j2journal front screen. Teacher's can access other class journals via the "All journals" tab

Tip: j2journal is designed for one journal per class, with groups organised into folders.

However, if you need a journal for a smaller group, you can create a teaching class for that group first. Find out how here

Notes for pupil use of j2journal:

• Pupils can also access j2journal via their Launchpad.

• They can only:

  1. See and add to journals of classes they are enrolled in.

  2. View content they have created themselves or where they have been tagged.
