Creating and managing classes


Please note: If you're using Just2easy through a managed service (such as C2k, GLOW, LGfL or HWB), you won’t be able to edit registration classes directly within Just2easy. These changes must be made through your managed service provider, and the information will automatically sync to Just2easy.

You can still create and edit teaching groups within Just2easy as needed. A how-to video can be accessed here


Teachers can use the j2dashboard tool to arrange pupils into registration classes and teaching groups.


Registration classes are usually groups of 30 children, and will generally reflect a class register or year group. i.e Year 1, Class 1NK or Yellow class.



Teaching groups are designed for smaller groups of students. This might reflect ability groups, intervention groups, clubs within school or multi year group groupings. I.e Class 1 Table 1, Rainbows Class or Digital Leaders. 

Teaching groups make it much easier to set work/resources, assign homework, assign spelling lists or award j2stars. It is not a requirement to have teaching groups, but it can make the personalisation of learning much easier. 





Creating a class:


  1. Open j2dashboard (this can be found within Teacher's Area > j2dashboard )
  2. Open the classes tab
  3. Click + (under manage classes)

  4. Select either registration class or teaching class > type a class name > click ok

    Please note:
    Managed services (such as C2K, Glow, Hwb, etc.) will only have the option to create teaching classes in Just2easy. This is because registration class data is automatically pulled directly from your school’s management system during the nightly data synchronisation.

  5. Your class will then appear in the class list


 

Adding pupils to your class:

  1. Open j2dashboard (this can be found within Teacher's Area > j2dashboard )
  2. Open the classes tab
  3. Find the class in the list (registration classes are listed first, and have a green folder next to the class name. Teaching classes have purple folders)
  4. Click on the drop-down menu (to the right of the class name) next to the relevant class

  5. Click on the + icon

  6. Select the user/s to be added - you can select multiple users 

  7. Click ok to add the users



Removing pupils from a registration class


Please note - Users cannot be deleted from a registration class. They can only be moved to a different registration class. 

Some schools like to archive users once they have left. This can be done by creating an archive registration class i.e. leavers 2025 and moving users into this class. 


  1. Open j2dashboard (this can be found within Teacher's Area > j2dashboard )
  2. Open the classes tab
  3. Locate the class you would like to add users to
  4. Click on the triangular icon / drop-down menu (to the right of the class settings) 
  5. Click on the + icon
  6. Select the user/s to be moved into the class
  7. Click ok



 


Removing pupils from a teaching group

  1. Open j2dashboard (this can be found within Teacher's Area > j2dashboard )
  2. Click on the classes tab 
  3. Click on the drop down menu (to the right of the class name) next to the relevant class 
  4. Select the relevant user to be removed
  5. Click on the icon
